I'm really bad at this

So people tell me, "you should blog". Obviously not. I barely have time to breathe some days let alone tell the world about it!! But here are some things...

work has been very rough lately....let's just say personnel issues and leave it at that.

I haven't stamped in weeks so I have nothing to show you, but I'm hoping that will change soon. I caution you, though, to not hold your breath!

The new Tupperware catalog is out for the fall. And the new sales flyer just started today. It all focuses on baking. Great stuff if you're into that!

My latest accomplishment? Finding clothes that fit. Yep that's right kids, after all these years I actually found pants that fit and a couple shirts that almost flatter my figure. Now it needs to cool off so I can wear my new stuff!!

Abby has been losing her puppy teeth, and she's grown a lot. She's finally starting to mature some, and I think with more time we're gonna be one happy family, with everyone playing nice!

Ron's heart issues have improved only to give way to 2 hernias. They need to be fixed, but he says he doesn't have the time. What is it with boys and taking care of themselves like they should?!??

RON's biggest accomplishment lately? He just bought a new boat. Stratos. It is pretty, but did we really have to travel to the other side of Nashville to get one? It took so long, on 2 different days, we didn't have time to stop to visit my aunt and uncle. That made me kinda mad, but fishing is Ron's only hobby really, and this is only his 2nd boat ever, and only his 1st NEW one. BTW, guess where he is right now.

My friend and I finished our study I mentioned in my last post and have begun a new one about the Proverbs 31 woman. The last one and this one so far are thought provoking and really help to put life, your job, and their annoyances into perspective. (if only they stayed there!)

So here's hoping I get better at this, and am able to soon share projects and products.

Right now....a little Librarain stuff. I mostly read YA lit as I am a middle school librarian and am on the young adult VSBA committee. I just finished the 4th book in the Gilda Joyce series and I think it was the best so far. A lot of times in series, the first is the best and then the author seems to just try to squeeze some more out. This one, Gilda Joyce and the Dead Drop, was great. I think adults would like it too. Or maybe just adults who are really kids at heart. Give it a shot....it's a really good story, and Gilda is a REAL character!!

Another day in the life

Last official day of summer for me! And what a summer it has been!! Here's hoping that health issues are behind us at least for a while!!

A friend of mine and I are doing weekly Bible studies. Right now we're doing "Keeping a Princess Heart in a Not So Fairy Tale World" by Nicole Johnson. I think this would be great for any of you girls out there who thought there was going to be a prince rescue you and have happily ever after. I've really gotten a lot out of it so far. I'm more appreciative of what I have and a lot more content. You should read it.....there's a workbook too.

The open house is over, now I have to put everything away and get my house in order. Boo!!! Although, it did inspire me to do a "weekly special" with my leftover items. I'll take one or two things to work each week, and have a spot at the end of my desk (actually a long-ish counter top) for the special of the week. If I get better at this blogging, I could also have a special on here. We'll see!

Abby has surgery today and I'm very nervous. I'm gonna worry all day! She's getting fixed, and we're not allowed to be there like you could be if it were a human in a hospital. But I have big goals to keep me busy. 1. all Tupperware put away, and house back in order and 2. all of my stamping stuff put away from the crop that I went to on Saturday. That may not sound like much, but you should see how much stuff I have!! Just call me Tupper-stampin Marcos!! Plus if I get those things done today, that leaves me the weekend to relax with my family before heading back to school Monday.

I suppose if I want to reach my goals, I'd better get off the computer! Stay posted...this school year promises to be very different, very interesting, and most likely, stressful. We shall see.

life was interrupted!!!

or maybe, my down time was interrupted while life happened all over the place!!

first, found out a vitamin D deficiency and as I started the therapy for that, Ron was in the ER with atrial fib!! Spent about 2 months dealing with that on top of ending the school year, getting a new principal, a few other health woes. Then summer....a nice break, right? WRONG!! Got a new puppy which we love, but needs constant supervision, yet still manages to have accidents. Her name is Abby. Then she started to get it about the time to leave for Indiana....20 year high school reunion, and mom's 65th birthday. We were planning a surprise party and all of us kids were going to come in from our various states.

Then, when Ron and I got there, we had to take mom to the ER. Fractured femur! Time spent in the hospital, not able to care for herself, moved her into assisted living for 30 days. Moved the party to the place she's staying.

In a nutshell....I'm exhausted!!!! So, sorry for the lack of posts, hopefully things will get better from here on out. I will post pics of our new baby soon.

Also getting ready for a Tupperware open house and another stamp a stack....more details later. For those of you who pray....I's like a little less excitement, maybe even a little boredom!

Stamp-A-Stack was great!!

We had great fun at the stamp a stack Saturday. Samantha was great and taught us new techniques that none of us had done before on each card. I was going to post pics of the cards, but why do something that someone else has already done....check out Samantha's blog on it. http://thescrapmaster.blogspot.com/2009/03/1st-stamp-stack.html
I can't wait for the next one....and to get my next order. I'm gonna love make cards with Trendy Trees!! Don't worry I'll let you all know when the next one is so you can join us.

In Tupperware news, We have a great Mother's day set that's on sale for 40% off!! You get a very nice insulated lunch bag (bigger than those fold over kinds!) a 16oz tumbler with a seal to prevent spills and bugs, a crystal wave soup mug and a crystal wave microwaveable bowl...but you don't have to microwave, you can have a salad in it....all for only $30, YES only $30!! AND, it comes in a very coloful gift box. Yes it's great for mom, but I want one too...and I'm thinking of all the birthdays coming up....and what a fun, colorful way to go green and stop using all those zipper bags and throwaway containers. Check out my Tupperware website (link is to your left) for more great gift giving ideas.

I'm also getting ready to have my first in-home party and I can hardly wait, it should be great fun...I'm hoping to try a new recipe for it...warm & fruity rice pudding!! I also have a couple leads on possible fundraisers. I'm REALLY looking forward to that! Your group or organization gets to keep 40% of the profits right up front! And everybody loves Tupperware. Again, with everybody growing green and doing more stay at home cooking and entertaining, it's a great time to buy...and don't forget the lifetime guarantee on most products!

In the library...we have started a book club for staff. It was Leanne's idea. For our first one we are reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. I just bought my copy today. We are also 100% sure now that we are going to lose our secretary...but we are going to have to take on more work....hmmm, fewer people and more work. We just keep our heads above water with the three.....I don't know how this is going to work!

2nd in the county!!

At school we did this eWellness program for 8 weeks where we had to eat so many fruits, vegetables, drink so much water and have so many minutes of physical activity for each week. Our team came in 2nd for the physical activity challenge, and we each won a pair of shoes from the Runner's Market! Yay, us!!

In other news...Voting for the Volunteer State Book Award is coming up, so I'm trying to read about 20 books in less than a month....we'll see if I can do it! I'm looking forward to going to Nashville for that and hanging out with my Aunt and Uncle.

This weekend is my stamp-a-stack and I am SOOOO looking forward to it. I didn't have to do the designing or cutting out and I'll get to make a set for myself this time.....Yay!! I haven't gotten to stamp in a loooong time!

Tupperware has a Mother's Day set coming out on March 28th. I already have a sample and it is way cool....more about that later. I got a Blooming teapot for signing up, and I'm looking forward to getting to do a tea party for Tupperware. Contact me if that sounds like something for you!

Tupperware deals through April 10, 2009

I am so excited about the new sales flyer that runs through April 10th!!

For Hosts....just for choosing a date for your party you will get a 3/4 cup little wonders snack bowl with seal, great for those snacks on the go like almonds, berries, dry cereal, etc. Then just for having a party with $125 in sales, you will get a 3-qt Crystalwave container. Good man sized leftover lunch bowl!! As a host you also have the opportunity to purchase 4 Tupperliving colorful paring knives with safety covers, for only $10!!! That's a $35 value! Of course there's even more....

The attendance offer is a set of 4-16oz Tupperware Impressions Tumblers with Drip-less straw seals for only $13.75. These are great to take with you in the car or to have outside and nothing will fall into your drink! The other sales items include, a 3pc set of Fridgesmart containers for only $18.50. Everyone is trying to save money these days, and I don't know about you, but I seem to throw out more produce than I'm happy about! These containers help eliminate that waste. The Tupperware Impressions 5 pc bowls set is also....get this....Buy One Get One Free!! That's right, 2 complete sets for only $59!! Keep one yourself and have one as a gift. I now sell Tupperware!!

Well, I did it! Last night I signed up to be a Tupperware consultant. I've been thinking about it for months and going back and forth on the issue. As Dale was sitting here explaining all about it, Ron said to just go ahead and do it!

Now I need your help! Spread the word...if you know anyone who wants some Tupperware, please direct them to my site. Even people out of the area can order on the site. Or if you would like to host a party and earn free products, just let me know. You can have a home party, an online party, or a catalog party.

AND...if you know anyone who needs a fundraiser, Tupperware fundraisers let you keep 40% of the profits!! This is great for a club, athletic group like a soccer team or cheerleading squad, or also an individual raising money for a mission trip. The new fundraiser catalog just came out and it has some great stuff in it and I love the new colors!! They have the servalier bowls that our moms and gramas have in brighter colors!

I'm excited. I'm really looking forward to meeting new people and hanging out with my friends at a home party. I like the whole idea of doing something so different like this.

BTW, I'm all better from the migraine incident. And, of course, nothing showed up on the EEG. But, at least we know there's nothing wrong with my brain (well, medically speaking) so I'm just not going to worry about these things anymore since there's obviously nothing that can be done about it.

It's spring break and I'm looking forward to scrapbooking, stamping, and hopefully having my first Tupperware party. SO....who wants to be first?

Migraine Saga

So someone pointed out that I hadn't posted anything new (this one's for you, worm), but there's not really anything new....except for the migraine from Hell.

Thursday I was scheduled for a sleep deprived EEG, that meant no bedtime meds, no morning meds and I had to get up at 2:30 am and stay up all day until my test that afternoon. I expected to be a little achy, but never expected one of the worst migraines in my life. I woke up with it about 1 am, and of course I can't take anything for it. I tried to go about the day as usual and do the mind over matter thing. I was on a field trip with the 8th grade science/energy bowl team for their competition. It took everything I had not to pass out or throw up during the rounds. Even the other teacher with us thought I was going to pass out just by looking at me. Finally I had to call my husband to come get me. We called the Drs. office thinking for sure I wouldn't be able to have the test, but they said to still come. At least I got to go in about an hour early.

The test itself wasn't bad except for the strobe light at the begining of it, and as soon as it was over I took my migraine meds, but by then I was so sick and it hurt so bad nothing was touching it, and I couldn't eat or drink for being sick. I had to take another pill a few hours later...you aren't allowed to have more than 2, I guess because of the heart issues it can cause. Friday I had to miss work 'cause it was like I was in slow motion and I couldn't read, look at the computer or the TV for more than about 2 minutes. There was no way it was safe for me to drive. I slept a good part of the day. Saturday I was still feeling the same way. There was still a little undercurrent of pain that had been there since Friday morning, but nothing like it had been. It wasn't until Saturday evening around 7 pm that I felt like I actually "woke up". This morning, Sunday, I'm just now feeling close to "normal". There's still this tiny bit of residual pain, and I still feel slow in my reactions, but I'm getting better.

I was hoping to start posting some of my stamping projects, but seeing as how I just lost 3 entire days out of my life, I'm once again behind. Maybe I'll have something for you over spring break.

If anyone has had similar experiences with their headaches and ever found any answers, please leave a comment here. I am so over this and all of the not knowing. I'm sick of seeing doctors and I'm sick of most of their attitudes. The one thing I want above all else, whether I get answers or not, is to never have another migraine in my whole life....really, is that too much to ask?

Modular Mates

Finally....I got my modular mates. Now it's time to put them to work. Here's my cabinet before.

Here is all the stuff that came out of the top 2 shelves....
I had to get rid of some things that had gotten shoved to the back and were hard as a rock!! Here's what's left......

now my new cabinet!!!!!

On the middle shelf there, the large one has all the crackers, the medium one has all the candy, and the small one has other snacks....dried fruit and Little Debbie cakes
The top shelf....the medium one has 2 packages of marshmallows...the other 2 are EMPTY right now!!! And look at how much space is around them!
This is so great, I love it!!
BTW I'm taking orders for Tupperware until March 12 2009, contact me if you'd like to place an order!!

Sunday, February 22, 2009

So I've been waiting to post until I got my Tupperware in, but it still hasn't come yet. When it does I'll put up my before and after pictures. I cannot wait!!!

My friend Samantha is starting up a new Hostess club for Stampin' Up! She has 10 spots (some are already filled) and what you do is commit to purchasing $15 worth of product every month. When it's your turn to be hostess, you get to enjoy the hostess benefits. And if you have a party on your month, or get friends to order, you could get even MORE benefits. And who COULDN'T spend $15 a month? For more details go to Samantha's blog, or follow this link. http://thescrapmaster.blogspot.com/2009/02/hostess-club-round-3.html It really is a great deal!!

I still have a couple spots open for my Stamp-A-Stack on Saturday March 28 from 1-4. This would be a great time to come and make some of your own cards. I know myself I need some more Birthday and Thank you cards. I'm always using those and it's so great to have some on my desk instead of having to try to get to the store. Plus it's handmade and that makes it more personal. Let me know if you want to come for sure so there will be enough supplies for everyone.

Keep watching for the Tupperware update....oh, and think of me, if you don't mind. I see that new neurologist this Thursday. I'd love to get some answers even if they're not good....it's the not knowing that drives you crazy.

tupper stamping news

Friday the 13th went pretty well, only the toaster broke, and that was evened out by the candy, cake, donuts, and flowers I got...needless to say I won't be able to count this Friday on my eWellness program! A typical Saturday has begun....I'm doing laundry while playing on the computer.

So, I'm going to have a stamp a stack at my house on Saturday March 28 from 1-4, let me know if you are interested in coming so enough supplies will be cut out ready and waiting for you. It's a typical one...we'll be making 12 cards for $15....at only $1.25 per card that's cheaper than the stores. This is a great time to come and bring a friend...it's Sale-A-bration, and that means IF you wanted to purchase anything, for every $50 that you spend you get to pick something out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog for free. Click on your left over here on one of Samantha's links to see that catalog or the new Spring catalog.

Many of you know I've been going back and forth about whether or not to sell Tupperware. I think I'm leaning more heavily towards yes. There are a few more questions I want answered before I finally take the plunge. I'd just be doing it for fun, I'm not looking to be a director or anything. Just hang out with my friends at parties or meet new people who want to have the parties. I'd love to have your opinion on it, so leave me a comment, you might come up with something I hadn't thought about yet.

Now a little bit about the library...we were told yesterday that the county is going to start controlling the thermostats 100% and they are going to set them on 68 for the winter and 75 for the summer. Doesn't sound bad right....huh!! That library is so weird. If you put the thermostat on 74 sometimes you feel just right and sometimes you're wishing you could strip down! And if you put it on 70 you have to pull out your space heater...and they want to put it on 68!!! Most of you know enough about FM by now to know that being cold is my biggest trigger. I just sieze up, can't move well, my muscles feel like rocks and that hurts SOOOOOO much. If they really go through with this and we really can't change it within a couple degrees, I'm in big trouble. As it is I've had to wear cuddle duds to work some days 'cause of the odd temp changes in there. I'm a little (no, a lot) worried about this, but at least I've got til next year to worry about it....I hope. He didn't say they were doing it right now.

Other than that, things are going well in the library. The kids are getting excited about getting to vote for the Volunteer State Book Award, and we're going to try another group of Librarians in Training with new guidelines. I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes.

Time to change out the loads.....have a great Valentines day everyone!!

this evening's adventures

so when I got home from work it was violently pouring down rain, and the cover to the hot tub had half blown off. So I had to go out in the wind and rain to get it put down. I was not out there but 1 minute, and I was so wet I even had to change my skivvies! Then it all blows over, so we can go to Bible study no problem. Nice study...should be able to come back home to relax right? HA! We come in the door and Charley has knocked over the garbage can. He has eaten my left over pepperoni, part of a paper plate, and Lord knows what else! He's never done that before. Oh the joys of parenthood. Here's hoping tomorrow is nice and calm!

Welcome

Here it is my first blog. You never know what you'll find here. I'm a "young adult" librarian who loves to stamp my own greeting cards, scrapbook, and Tupperware. I might be talking about a new stamp set, my latest scrapbook project, a book I'm reading, or what interesting thing happened at work that day. Then there's my husband and my little "boy"...a not-so-bright German Shepard named Charley, who, BTW, ate a dead moth this morning. I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis and migraines and I learn something new about myself, my capabilities and my limitations all the time.

Feel free to ask questions and post comments...just be nice. This place is a happy, peaceful, respite from the real world....except when I rant ;>). Hopefully that won't be too often.

Have a great day, and if I'm not back before then, a great Valentine's weekend.
